Two weeks ago, I celebrated one of the most fulfilling moment of my life, the graduation day.. two weeks have passed but i still can't believe that i made it. The course i took in college was not really my choice, it's my mother's. But i am still glad that i survived. haha I wasn't able to post this earlier because i enjoyed my 1 week vacation after the graduation. Yes. I only have one week vacation because starting this week we'll be having of our review class for the preparation for Board Licensure Examination.

Let me share to you some of my college memories and experiences..

Ever since i graduated in high school, Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering was not really on my list of choices.. Actually, i really wanted to take Architecture since i like drawing and stuff.. other of my choices were Civil Engineering or Psychology..

Throwback Highschool graduation..

My mother doesn't want me to take Civil Engineering because it is mostly meant to be taken by men. She suggested that i should take Electronics Engineering because it is very in demand world wide. Haha i thought she don't want me to take a course for men, but now she wanted me to take Electronics Engineering. I really don't know its background but i just agreed to her suggestion since she's the one who's sending me to school. I don't want to disappoint her. So we went to Cebu Technological University, One of the state university here in Cebu. I took the Entrance Exam for Engineering Department and luckily i have passed.

My first year in college has been so cool for me. At my first day, I almost got lost on my way home because i'm still not familiar to the streets and places. haha i'll never forget that moment, its kinda fun but embarrassing at the same time. Later on, i got used to it and get to familiarize the places where i used to pass by everyday.. My school would take two rides away from my home. and i survived doing that everyday for the past 5 years.
I was on a block section. And i am studying with the same people for the past five years which i find it very nice. I have met some of my great friends and colleagues in that school.

That was me 5 years ago.. I'm so thin.. haha you can see at my right side, that's @egbertcabahug, and @eugeneybanez at my left side..

I even joined ROTC(Reserve Officers' Training Corps), which consists of Military training/instructions, lectures and physical training. I'm a kind of person that really loves challenges. As a matter of fact, i was a CAT(Citizen Army Training) Officer when i was in high school.

Even though you think that i'm so small, I've already gone through a lot of trainings and challenges where i was able to survived way back then. Yes i'm small, but terrible.. haha

find me.. hahaha

My 2nd year in college was slowly getting up to the next level. If my first year was cool, well this one is a little bit tough and exciting. I'm still making some adjustments coz at that time i don't really have the energy to take my course seriously. Like i'm just okay if i don't have high grades as long as i just pass all my subjects. I never did my best on everything. I was just a "happy-go-lucky-girl".

I've realized that its really different when you do something you like, and something that you don't like. Though i was on that Alteration Stage, My college life was still happy when i got to find new friends and we enjoyed each other's company.

When i was on my 3rd year, my life has been a roller coaster. I have a lot of ups and downs. When my father lost his job, My mother took care of everything. All the expenses in school and house. She works extra time just to earn more money to pay the bills. I have witnessed all of her struggles and sacrifices just to support everything we need. So when i reached 3rd year college, i come up to an idea of helping my mom to earn money.. I applied on different fast food chains and thank God i was hired. I work as a part-time service crew and i go to school everyday. Studying at day, working at night.

There i met different people with different stories and dreams. There were some students like me who are working to send themselves to school, or just like me who wanted to help my family. There were also people who works to support their own family and to sustain their daily needs. All of us Are striving hard for our future. All of us may have different perspectives in life. But there one thing i knew that we really have in common, SUCCESS.. All we want is to become successful in life.

10468197_1220659844630455_7203667941652593925_n.jpg

At that time, I also realize that working to earn money was never really easy. There were a lot of times when i just really wanted to give up because i am tired of everything, But i always put in mind that i have to do this not only for myself but for my mother. It takes a lot of strength, hard-work, sweat, determination and perseverance. Money can be gone so easy as 1,2,3, so you better budget it for the next few days. I got to discipline myself to stop wasting my money on things that doesn't really matter or unnecessary and learn to spend it wisely. At the end of the day, that little thing i did just made my mom happy, and seeing her being happy like that was priceless.
I finished my 5-months contract, the managers asked me to stay and keep working and they will make me a regular employee but i refused. My mother said that she doesn't want me to work anymore and she just wanted me to focus more on my studies.

In My 4th year, My life was full of struggles and challenges that we didn't see it coming. But this is the moment that i always pray to God everything i do, and ask for his guidance. He gave us a lot of blessing that we never expected. He gave us more that what we asked for...

Before the semester starts, we have to take a qualifying exam. It is an exam that determines which among the students would pass and can proceed to the next semester. At that time, My mother has a thyroid decease which grows bigger and bigger. When it has gone to biopsy, the specialists found it to be Cancerous . So the doctors suggested that she has to undergone surgery to take out her thyroid part to prevent the cancer cells from scattering to different parts of her body.

I was very upset at that time, and nervous at the same time. But i always have faith and pray for her. As i was still studying for the qualifying exam, I am the one who takes care of my mother at the hospital everyday. I was studying at the hospital at the same time. When the qualifying exam has come, i was thinking that i'n not prepared enough for it. But i don't have a choice, i need to take it, and accept whatever the result is.

After the day of qualifying exam, the schedule of my mother's surgery has come. My family and some of her workmates went on he hospital, we were all nervous and praying for my mother's safety and fast recovery.

After almost 8 hours of waiting, Thank God It was a successful operation. Together with the good news of my mom's recovery, I received another good news from school saying that the result of the qualifying exam was posted and Thank God i passed the exam! My mother was so happy.. And her happiness is my happiness as well.. :)

After her recovery, she has undergone Radiation for 3 months to completely destroy the remaining cancer cells in her body. After few months, another tragedy happened in our life. A fire incident happened on our neighborhood, And the entire place was covered. It was a quite night, when suddenly my father shouted that there's a fire outside our house. So we immediately went out the house, and brought anything we can.

13909401_1614939328797305_2100977490588135519_o.jpg

After the incident happened that night, we went back to our place, hoping that we can still find something useful. But what we saw was everything turned into ashes and scraps. We felt very hopeless, it really hurts when everything we built for how many years suddenly vanished. Everyone goes back to zero. But we are still thankful that everyone was safe.
That day after the fire happened to be the day of our major exam. I still went to school and took the exam.
I have realized that God always loves us, and that He never really leave our side, especially in times that we need Him, He's always there. There are a lot of people helped us to start again. They helped us in any ways they can, I know they are God's instrument to help us. And I'm always thankful for that.

God is Good all the time!

When i reached my 5th year in college, I really can't believe that i was still there and fighting! haha After all the struggles, heartaches and dramas that life has brought me, i'm still alive and kick'n!
Never have thought that being a 5th year student was becoming more tougher than i expected.
Aside from more expenses, the pressure was always there. But i'm still keeping my self tact and never allow that pressure to destroy my audacity.

During my fifth yr, i was able to meet the person who made my heart skip a beat.
