Africa: Mother of the seven rivers
Home of the gods and the souls of our ancestors beyond.
Innumerable tongues speaking in One Voice, One family clothed in her undying spirit of love.
One heart, one dauntless spirit pulsating in our souls.
Africa: She sings - sonorous wails of cheers and sorrows.
The thuds of war drums and booms of gunshots she knows.
Still, her enchanting upbeats cause us to sway and shuffle in frenzy undefined.
Shhh! Listen to her voice - its beautiful.
Africa: an indescribable blend of colorful hues.
Her evergreen lands, the yellow shades of Lagos, the red earth of Benin.
Our skin, she embeds with the blinding glimmer of melanin.
Unafraid to strut and flaunt with sheer peacockry, we are Black and Proud!
