Cinco de mayo

Today I would like to explain a little bit what cinco de mayo is and what it is not. Tomorrow is the day and I just thought about giving a brief explanation about this celebration in the USA.

Every year on May 5th, this day is full of celebration across the United States. It's a day of mariachi, sombrero, and margaritas. But why is this day celebrated? Where and when this celebration has its origins? Let me share with you a little bit about this day.

The celebration of cinco de mayo has its origins in Mexico back in the 19th century. It doesn't have anything to day with Mexico's Indapandance day, like a lot of people think. This is a Mexican celebration of a battle that Mexico won against the French. The Mexican Independence day is on September 16th.
