David met Janet at a bar, they exchanged numbers and months later, they started dating. Janet complained severally about her boyfriend, she wanted him to stop drinking alcohol. One of her friends heard and reminded her:

”Janet, remember you met him at a bar. Why do you accept him if you want him to change?” Her friend asked.

”I love him and think I can change him.” Janet replied.

Despite her complaints, they got engaged and finally married. David stopped for a while but things changed when he lost his job. He would go out and come back home drenched in alcohol. At the slightest provocation or complain, he would beat her to pulp. She suffered broken noses, black eyes, thick scar and several injuries. Dear Janet, don’t blame the devil yet, this is your fault.

Blame not the devil for all your woes, there are things we can avoid. In term of relationship or marriage, forget the part where you have to change your partner. Don’t be blinded by love and forget the necessities. Before you accept someone’s proposal, it is best to know their flaws, cons and pros. If you can deal or endure them all, you are good to be together. If you can’t and think he/she will change because of you (especially habits and addictions), you are taking a very big risk.

If it is money, company or pleasure you desire in a relationship, state it accordingly before making a move for a relationship or agreeing to be in one. This will reduce the number of blames on the devil. Leave the devil on one side and be responsible for your actions people. We are the world and what we do is what makes the world what it is. Dear readers, this is my 2 cents to you and I hope we learn to live better than we used to. Thanks for reading.

You cant change someone, they can only change themselves. relationships are about finding compatible partners, not changing someone to be what you want. i agree with you
