Nowadays, Grabcar drivers are becoming more creative with their hospitality services, they’ve started stocking up their cars with snacks, candy and beverages such as bottled water and Hacks candy; some drivers have even provided cables, powerbanks and WiFi so customers may charge their phones or use the internet if needed. Recently, Grabcar has been noted to be Southeast Asia’s number one private car hire. The reason for these small yet very convenient hospitable gestures is simple – A five-star rating from their customers on the Grabcar feedback upon the customer’s arrival at his/her destination.

Ratings on Grabcar are given to the drivers who have either provided excellent services or poor services. Rewards are given to drivers who have performed excellently over time. The Grabcar I took offered me bottled water and a personal tablet that displays local and international news, movie trailers, Grabcar promotions and various other advertisements. The tablet had its loudspeakers turned on and I was given the option to either use my own earphones, listen to the news with the loudspeakers turned on or switch it off entirely. Social media has provided me with many articles posted about Grabcar drivers and their creative hospitality provided to their customers. Some drivers are posted outside nightclubs and bars on Friday and Saturday nights, providing people with the option of getting home safely after a night of drinking. These drivers have equipped their cars with plastic bags, bottled water, candy and made sure their cars are clean and fragrant before passengers enter their vehicles.

Grabcar is proving to be more luxurious than our own vehicles; granted, we have to pay them for providing us transport from Point A to Point B but I would rather pay for transportation that included services as such and a relaxing trip than being stuck in traffic, stressed.
