Bird Box. Quite a bit better than I expected.

You have to be living under a rock not to have seen all of the different memes that surround the Netflix movie called Bird Box.

Most of those memes are about Sandra Bullock with a blindfold on doing various things. If you haven't seen Bird Box you would likely think that a great portion of the movie involves Sandra Bullock with a blindfold on. That's not true though.

Bird Box stars Sandra Bullock, John Malkovich, Trevante Rhodes.... who is in my opinion a dead ringer for 50 Cent, and a few other people including the Asian medical examiner from Law and order SVU.

I have always wanted to see that guy play a starring role in a movie. His role may not have been starring but it was really interesting to see him in a movie that could possibly be considered a blockbuster. Is a Netflix movie like this considered a blockbuster? I think it is.

Bird Box is not at all the movie that I thought it was going to be. It starts out kind of like The Happening in that there is something happening and we're not exactly sure what it is, but it's causing people to go crazy.

Eventually we find out that it's not actually in people's minds . There is something out there that will cause sane people to kill themselves as soon as they see it. It might be some kind of monster or some creature from another planet.

Whatever it is you can't look at it.

That means you have to be inside a house, or if you're outside you need to be wearing a blindfold.... if you are sane.

However, if you are insane then you don't need a blindfold because you won't kill yourself if you see these creatures.

That means there are 2 kinds of people that are alive, sane people and insane people. That means that the sane people have to be afraid of 2 different things. The creatures that we never really get to see very well. Although there is one part where we kind of get a glimpse of one . And also the insane people that are always looking to pull people's blindfolds off and make them look at the creatures so that they kill themselves.

It's an interesting situation to be in and certainly not a pleasant one.

This movie reminds me very much of a zombie movie. That's a good thing.

It's got this whole group of people that come together and have to work together in order to figure something out. The group of people is really interesting and they all come from different walks of life. I like that. You've got John Malkovich, the alcoholic that doesn't care about anyone. You've got Sandra Bullock playing the Sandra Bullock character that Sandra Bullock always plays. To be honest I don't really care for Sandra Bullock, but you don't have to care for her to enjoy this movie.

You've got a guy that I truly thought throughout the entire movie was 50 Cent. You've got the Asian medical examiner who acts exactly like the Asian medical examiner from SVU because he is that guy. Maybe he can only play one kind of role.... still it's good to see him. You've got a few other people to to add to the mix and they are all interesting. Everybody does a good job and it all works together.

I would definitely say that this movie is something I would have seen at the theaters if it wasn't a Netflix only type deal. Certainly it's better than The Happening.

I would say it's better than most of the movies in its style. It's not entirely scary but it's got a great feel to it. I pretty much enjoyed the movie from start to finish.

If you've been browsing through Netflix and you've considered watching Bird Box but you didn't want to do it because you either don't really care for Sandra Bullock or you've seen the memes and thought it was just going to be a dumb movie..... then I'd have to say you need to reconsider that decision.

This is a really good movie that everyone should see.

I'm not going to say it's brilliant but it is definitely fun and I have to say I really enjoyed it a lot.
