The origin of the pancake
Although it is very popular in Solo and its surroundings, serabi is actually Sundanese food. The name of pancake or surabi itself comes from Sundanese which means 'big'. Since the 1920s, pancakes have become a well-known market snack.

Serabi which is still traditional is generally served with Javanese sugar and coconut milk. However, there are now many who develop pancakes into various flavors. Serabi can be served with various choices of toppings such as mayonnaise, chicken, meat, chocolate, and others.
The most famous pancake sellers in the city of Solo for a long time, for example Notosuman pancake which was founded in 1923. The seller is more than one, but both come from an area in Solo called Notokusuman, but abbreviated as Notosuman.
