Anxiety 'The avalanche of fear'

Anxiety is an avalanche of fear; a snowballing effect of fear. Digging to the depth of the fear, it is often fear of judgment upon others, fear of the unknown, and or fear of failing or making a mistake.

An example entails a middle aged woman joining a workplace where large amount of the staff were vastly younger than her. The woman was anxious that she would not fit in, or feel laughed at and out of place. These negative perceptions of being judged by others, comes from her lack of acceptance and love from herself, combined with the fear of the unknown (Being unsure how her work colleagues would feel towards her.) Now, normally the woman would run from her fears, she would not indulge in what was causing her anxiety. Which in the past, has never allowed her to grow and still trapped her with the same misconceptions of fear.

However, in this case her back was against the wall and she had no option but to advance upon this working environment. Long story short, being herself, being her age in the workplace, her peers labelled her as the ‘mother,’ the ‘guru’ and she loved it!

Her facing her fears allowed her to tackle the unknown, find acceptance with herself and grow. More importantly, she was not held hostage by her anxiety. From that incredible point, the woman can silence the negative perception about her age as she learned a new perspective.

Life is all about learning, anxiety handcuffs us from learning about the world and ourselves. Do not be scared to make mistakes and fail; failure just removes one incorrect pathway which trails you closer to the correct one.

Attached within this steemit post is an image that illustrates the ‘grounding tool.’ The grounding tool allows you to defend yourself from anxiety. Additionally, I have a link to a video that supposedly helps those suffering from an anxiety attack (according to scientists).

I always state battles are won by defending and attacking, though the paragraph above states defensive strategies, attacking strategies would be to challenge your anxiety and fear.
