Why You Want to Visit the UK This Christmas

Still not sure what you want to do for the holidays? Here are the top five reasons why you should make it to the UK during Christmastime.

(1) Charles Dickens Museum. "A Christmas Carol," an infamous holiday tale that was both written and filmed in London.

Travelers can visit the Charles Dickens Museum and see the author's tribute. You can even go to the street scenes where the movie was casted. As a bonus, you can stop by the Somerset House from the 2003 film, "Love Actually" was shot and go ice skating or visit Oxford Street for some shopping.

(2) Yuletide Fun. Be swept away in the English merriment of old-time Christmas traditions. Go to a nearby festival or venture one of the markets.

(3) Boxing Day. The day after Christmas was originally celebrated by giving presents to the less fortunate, but it now has been taken up by eating, watching soccer, and shopping for some "Black Friday" deals. You can enjoy 26 Dec whether you're in the UK, Scotland, or Wales.

(4) Carolers All Around. Make your way to one of the nearby concerts or churches to hear some spirited vocalists.

(5) Holiday Royalty. Visit Highclere Castle where Downtown Abbey was showcased and experience some 'magical' Christmas moments.

You also don't want to miss the festive overload at the Chatsworth House in Peak District that is decorated from head to toe.
