The Dwarf Pawpaw Has Started Fruiting

Farming is an enduring profession it is not like most professions where you can easily see instant results and benefits. There are some fruits you plant and have to wait 5 years before it starts fruiting, some take about a year while others take 3 to 6 months before harvesting can take place. Whether it takes 3 months or 5 years before you can start harvesting, they all involve waiting and this is probably why many people don’t like going into agriculture, they don’t like the time waiting.

History Of My Dwarf Pawpaw

I have 5 pawpaw trees in my compound but they are all growing too tall probable because of the 2 storey building that shields them from the sun so they’re trying to outgrow the building or probably because of the natural manure derived from rabbit dung and other waste. In any case we sort for a dwarf pawpaw tree which we believed won’t grow that tall. I final got the seeds from someone that worked at the ministry of agriculture. My Dwarf Pawpaw Tree Has Started Fruiting

The pawpaw tree started blooming (producing flowers) sometime in early January and those flowers have transformed into fruits as you can see in the picture above. And that is my ten years old son that assists me in the garden and rabbit farm when school and homework allow him to. Lol. He was showing me that he is still taller than the dwarf pawpaw tree.

In Conclusion

I can’t wait for the fruits to start getting ripe so that we can start eating them, which is another endurance journey we have embarked upon. I however wait the fruits everyday as they grow bigger and believe it is only a matter of time before it starts appearing on our table. Lol.
