Celebrations Started Early This Year...

Turning a year older always makes me feel like time is just flying by at warp speed. I remember celebrating New Year's Day like it was yesterday and now it is already the 14th of July. They say that time flies when you are having fun!

My birthday celebrations started a couple of days earlier this year and 2018 is turning out to be a pretty special year. So much has happened and I am feeling so overwhelmed with joy and gratefulness for what I have today and all the wonderful people in my life. God is really so good!

It started yesterday with a simple chocolate cheesecake from Uncle Tetsu which I bought to sort of celebrate with some girlfriends. I like the cake there because it's light and it melts in your mouth! One of those that look so-so but taste oh so good!

Then today my team at the office really went all out with the arrangements and surprises. According to them, they had been preparing the whole week ordering a really beautiful photo worthy cake and scheming up how today would go! It started with them bringing out a pretty cool chicken nugget cake which made the office smell heavenly. One of the girls had personally woke up at 5 am today to cook up the nuggets before coming to work. Talk about a labour of love...They tasted absolutely delicious of course!

Then one of my more senior girl asked me if she could talk to me in the room. I said "Sure." then followed her in, and what do you know, the meeting room was filled with balloons, love notes, a present and a positively beautiful cake! I was speechless and really happy! I felt so loved and pretty special. The best was they all took time to hand write me a little personal note, either telling me how they felt or wishing me all the good things in life! We, of course, had a photo taking frenzy and when it was all done, I realised that I only managed to taste one chicken nugget because the rest of team jumped on the pile like sharks! (It was lunchtime and I gather they were all starving!) The cake was a work of art and really pretty. It was almost a waste to cut it, so we continued to ogle over it for the better part of the hour and probably took a few hundred photos! 😂 🤣

The second half of the day went as plan with our company workshop until break time when this huge breath taking bouquet of flowers arrived! The most sweet smelling scent wafted over the whole room as they were fresh lilies! I do so love lilies and sunflowers. But based on what I was wearing today, lilies matched perfectly.

Working is so much more awesome because of these people! Now where was that crazy boomerang we took?😆Silly fun, fun nevertheless!

Finally I came home to many wonderful messages on discord, facebook and instagram from more wonderful people! Celebrations continue tomorrow at the Brassiere Fritz! My sisters and family have gone bonkers organising something for me tomorrow. I just have to look pretty, turn up and enjoy myself. Yes once again, my sisters and I are all on the same continent...
