Catching Up

Finally got to meet my friend who was away to study architecture in German. The last time we met was like 3 years ago. Another friend of mine had not been in touch for more than 6 years, who was now doing his housemanship at State Hospital of Kedah which was the second largest in Malaysia, one of the newest too. Surprisingly, not many people know about it and the staff distribution for the hospital was poor as most of the complicated case from Perlis, Perak and even Penang are referred to this hospital as it has the newest facilities and also most comprehensive equipment. The friend who went to German to study architecture just finished his degree and ready to serve the community with his skills. Haha, he decided to practice in German before coming back for good as obviously it is, the life there is definitely more attractive than being in Malaysia. Listening to his story on the life in German, the difference in culture and mindset, work ethics and also attitude, makes us more complete. We can combine both virtues of the Western and Asian together to make our life better. Personally, love how the Western able to be particular about details and also able to be critical about topics happening around them. This is something that Asian like me lack when it comes to understanding a topic by capturing different key details. It is important as such skill and attitude able to give us more insight about a topic and give us more clues on which path to choose and minimize the risk ahead. Another thing is that, German are paranoid about their data privacy whereby a lot of them do not use E-wallet as they worried about their data being used against them. To me, no matter how hard they try to avoid, there is no way to stay forever fiat as things will always evolve and it is now changing to that direction. So by understanding the technology and be aware on not getting into the trap set by the corporates are another useful tool rather than avoiding and not trying to face it. Interesting discussion we had. Again, lovely catch up with all the long lost friends and getting information from each of them, understand their story.
