Most people simply cannot listen.
If you cannot listen, you can't have a meaningful conversation because everything else is based on listening.
But mostly we just say "hum hum" when "listening" while thinking about what we want to say.
Exactly! We just want ourselves heard; we don't care about what others have to say.
But what we fail to realize is that listening is learning. Speaking, however, is not because you're only repeating what you already know.
