Sounds of speech
Beginning in the previous post
The sounds produced by the ligaments with the lips, the teeth of the tongue and the sky are transformed into sounds and phonemes of human speech. Sounds you can create any. But we will be interested in sounds with a semantic context. Phonemes are a conventional unit of language that corresponds to a particular sound. Simplistically, the sound (s) you say will always sound differently, as we defined earlier because of the imperfection of our speech apparatus. But it is important that you and everyone who hears you perceive this sound as (a). If your sound coincides with my "image" of sound, then it is the sound of speech, and not just sound. In occasion of images of a sound we will talk further. This is enough to have an idea of the mechanism of producing sounds by man. We will not, now go into details, which organ, how and on what sounds affects. It is enough for us to understand that there is a device. This device has a very complex "architecture", consisting of many nodes and parts. And all this works in unison, creating the sounds we need, as a person.
Of course, the question arises, but who manages this. When we are blowing a dudu, we close the holes with our fingers - we understand that we are creating sounds with the help of duda. We control the flow of air, we cover the holes in a certain sequence and duration. In man, everything is controlled by the brain. Even when playing on dud, all control goes through the brain.
And so, we have the following block diagram:
BRAIN-SPEAKER-SOUND-SOUND-HEARING DEVICE-BRAIN
The algorithm is the following, the brain, through commands, controls, the speech apparatus. The speech apparatus makes sounds. Published sounds are perceived by a hearing aid, and information is transmitted to the brain. In the brain occurs, checking the accuracy of the published sounds. Any device in our world is reversible. This means that the generator can generate electricity by using the motor that rotates it. Or maybe vice versa, be the engine that rotates the generator. In the same way, and our system is sound-hearing. The sounds that we hear, we can repeat, reproduce. This is because we know exactly what sound is, where it starts and where it ends. There are diseases associated with speech disturbance, when our brain confuses sounds or substitutes whole words, the sound of which seems similar, but different in meaning. In this case, it is possible to restart the brain and help. Everything can be.
Next time about the logic of speech
As a behavioral science major; I find this fascinating. Soundwaves, images, lights. It's all fascinating to me.
Great post sir.
