Today, April 1 and we celebrate one of the great holidays - Palm Sunday. After this holiday begins the Holy Week - the strictest fast before Easter. The main attribute of this holiday is the willow branch. They are consecrated in the church and when they come home they should gently knock on the members of the family saying: "I do not beat - willow beats, for a week Easter."

Сегодня, 1 апреля и мы отмечаем один из больших праздников - Вербное воскресенье. После этого праздника начинается Страстная неделя – строжайший пост перед Пасхой. Основным атрибутом этого праздника является ветка вербы. Их святят в церкви и придя домой, надо легонько постучать по членам семьи говоря: "Не я бью – верба бьет, за неделю Пасха".

The willow branch symbolizes the beginning of spring. The consecrated willow is attributed to healing properties. If she beat a man lightly, all illnesses will leave him. A branch of willow lay near the icon and believed that it would save the house and the residents from all troubles and misfortunes. This branch was kept there for a year. On this day, the family gathers at the dinner table. You can serve fish, cereals, salads, lean pastries and red wine. And the most important thing on this day is not to quarrel with anyone, to think only of the good, to wish relatives, friends, acquaintances - health, goodness, prosperity and prepare for Easter.

Ветка вербы символизирует начало весны. Освященной вербе приписывают целебные свойства. Если ею побить легонько человека, с него уйдут все болезни. Веточку вербы клали возле иконы и верили, что она спасет дом и жильцов от всяких бед и несчастий. Эта веточка хранилась там целый год. В этот день семья собирается за обеденным столом. Из угощений можно подавать рыбу, каши, салаты, постную выпечку и красное вино. И самое главное в Вербное воскресенье ни с кем не ссориться, думать только о хорошем, желать родным, друзьям, знакомым - здоровья, добра, достатка и готовиться к Пасхе.
