Winter in the Drakensberg

Its been ages since I wrote a proper post. I used to find writing things down to be quite cathartic but these days I am finding it pretty difficult.

We took a few days break from things at home and drove to the southern Drakensberg. We stayed at the Premier Resort Sani Pass in Himeville. The last time I had been in Himeville was when I was 10 and we stayed in a freezing log cabin at Khotso Pony trails. We spent entire days horse riding. Lydia got thrown off her pregnant horse and landed on barbed wire. We brushed our teeth in the stream. Byron (who was then 9) and I got drunk on sherry. It was a perfect holiday. I loved the horse riding and the majestic mountains so we decided to visit the area again. Lesotho is just a tiny drive from where we were, but I forgot my passport :(

Nevertheless it was a fab break - hot chocolate, card games, ping pong, horses, hiking, wine by the fire, day spa and a museum visit.
