in #life6 years ago

Waitomo Caves is truly a masterpiece of nature, on which she worked for millions of years. For many centuries, the ocean hosted here, creating bizarre limestone growths and mysterious intricacies of the moves. And then the water receded, forming a system of about 150 caves. The most famous of them is the Glowworm Cave. It is inhabited by amazing creatures - Arachnocampa Luminosa. These are fireflies, which can be found only in New Zealand. Their green-blue glow makes the vault of the cave look like a starry sky on a frosty night.
