Be patient as it shows high moral standards
One strength that will benefit you in every area of your life is patience. When things get uncomfortable in life, patience is a virtue and it will help you deal with the discomfort in a way that best suits your life and the people around you. Patience is an exercise of self-control that shows you can handle life when times get tough, have the ability to look outside of yourself, and can withstand judgment when you need to. In short, exhibiting patience shows that you have a high moral standard in life.
But, in a world where we can access information and order what we want within a few seconds, patience can be hard to come by. We want what we want, and we want it now! We’ve been taught that things can come really fast, and in many cases we are used to getting what we want within the same day. The problem is that while some things have become quicker to acquire in life, there are still some pretty great things that require time to come, and in order to get those things, patience is required. Moreover, life just doesn’t run on a set schedule. So, why is patience a virtue?
The bottom line is that being impatient can do some real negative things to you and your life.

In short, impatience is a trait that does nothing good for you.
Why Is Patience A Virtue In Your Life?
Following are some benefits of practicing patience, as well as some expanded explanations of why impatience is so unhelpful in your life.

  • Your Commitment To Success Is Clear
Exhibiting patience means that you can be persistent and stay in something for the long run. You don’t try to cut corners or do things in an unethical way; instead, you patiently work things out, do what needs to be done, and make things happen, and the commitment is a testament to your ability to stay with what is right and what will bring you the results you want. This message is clear, not only to yourself, but to everyone around you who watches you exhibit the patience needed to make things turn out successful.
A great example of this is relief workers who patiently do what needs to be done during a crisis. They don’t try to rush the crisis along. They don’t try to quickly get done what they think will help and then bail out of the situation. They stay committed to making things better, and that helps them do what needs to be done in order to help the situation become less stressful for everyone.

  • You Don’t Ruin Things For Other People
Patience is a virtue because it requires self-control. It requires you to have the insight to think about other people and their happiness.
For example, instead of telling someone a secret or blowing a surprise that would make someone very happy, patience will help you wait it out and see the secret or surprise through. It helps you stay calm and composed during a time where you just want to tell someone something you are excited for them to know.

  • You Don’t Stress Yourself Out With A Behavior That Does Nothing For Youpatienc.jpg

It doesn’t matter how much you stomp your feet, complain, or whine, what you want is not going to happen any faster because you are impatient. But, that doesn’t stop people from being impatient as if it is going to solve something! Unfortunately, impatience only causes stress, anxiety, and frustration, which makes the time between now and when you get something much more difficult than it needs to be. The ability to wait for something without getting upset is a valuable quality for your health and happiness, and it ensures you don’t waste any time on useless behaviors that don’t change reality in any way, shape, or form.
For example, a friend’s father is in the hospital waiting for surgery. Patience is required in the hospital, because surgery isn’t set in stone. When emergencies come in, you may have to wait a few days longer than you were originally told. He is not that patient, and he has worked himself into a state of anxiety. Considering he is in the hospital for his heart, that isn’t good. The truth is that being impatient is only hurting himself. It’s not helping him get into surgery faster. It’s not convincing other people that he needs to go in faster. It’s only affecting him, and it’s doing it in a negative way.
You can apply this to all situations in life. Your stress, worry, or anxiety that comes from being impatient is not going to speed up anything, but it will affect your health and your happiness negatively. Practice patience instead. Go with the flow. And, stay composed during experiences that are completely out of your control.

  • Great Things Take Time
    patience.jpg

You’ve heard this before because it is totally true! You can’t create something great without time.
For instance, you can’t create a plan to start a business, snap your fingers, and then have a successful business. It just doesn’t work that way! You have to use time to your advantage and put your energy towards the things that help create that successful business. In other words, you simply can’t plant a seed for a great thing and expect it to grow in a day. It needs your nurturing in order to grow into something big.
When you have patience, you can do all the things that need to be done in order to create something great. You don’t skimp over important details. You don’t rush through things and do them half as good as they should be done. You take your time and make sure that you tend to what you want so that it results in something amazing. That’s why patience is a virtue when going after big and amazing things in life.

  • Not Everyone Runs On Your Schedule
    patiencee.jpg

When you are impatient, you are often demanding that other people run on your schedule. This is a very selfish way of viewing and interacting with other people, and it shows just how self-absorbed you can be.
For instance, I know a woman who thinks that surprising other people is fun. She lives far away from most of her friends and family, and occasionally she will plan a surprise visit where she tells nobody that she is coming up. Unfortunately, she is stuck in the mindset that everyone is going to break their plans for her when she comes and, because of that, she continues to be disappointed when everyone already has plans of their own when her big surprise hits. Sometimes people are not even in town because she hasn’t let anyone know she is coming down, and then she plays a victim role because other people are not willing to drop their schedules and run on hers when she surprises them.
It’s important to understand that just because you want someone to do something doesn’t mean they should. Patience with other people, and their schedules in life, is important to your relationships with them. When you exhibit patience, you show other people that you value their time and their schedule in life, and that helps you earn other people’s respect.

  • Not Everything Runs On Your Schedule
    patienceee.jpg

Just as everyone else does not run on your schedule, it’s important to understand that neither does everything. Sometimes things break down. Sometimes things go wrong. Sometimes things just don’t work out the way you want them to, and you need patience in order to accept that truth and find solutions to any problems that come up.
Tips On How To Reinvent Yourself At Any Point In Life
Always remember that everything is not under your control. If you do, you will have an easier time exhibiting patience when you need to. You will find yourself more capable of working unexpected obstacles, which will benefit your life in some pretty amazing ways when it comes to success.

  • Waiting For The Right Moment Is Important Sometimes
    patienceeee.jpg
You want to buy a car NOW, but you know that there is going to be a sale in a month. Having patience will help you wait for the sale, save money, and still get what you want. A car is a big example, but there are many things both big and small that have a time and a place and require your patience in order to get you there.
This applies to your relationships too. It’s not always the right time to get what you want from someone, and having the character to be empathetic towards other people and find the right time can go a long way in your relationships. People will respect you for not demanding things at bad times simply because you are focused on what you want and not taking them into consideration.
  • Patience Helps With Compassion
    patienceeeee.jpg

Being patient strengthens your ability to be compassionate. Both self-compassion and compassion for others is built when you can step outside of your wants and see why patience is a virtue during times where it is required.
For instance, the woman who surprises her friends and family came down one time when a family member was in the hospital. Instead of being compassionate towards her, she was angry that everyone was unable to sit, relax, and visit with her. They were too focused on going to the hospital and being with this family member. Being impatient turns up the dial on being self-absorbed, and compassion is very hard to have when you are stuck in that kind of egotistic state.
Patience also helps with self-compassion. Instead of beating yourself up because you are not able to do something that you want to do, you can accept that something is standing in your way and there is nothing you can do about it right now. It allows you to forgive yourself and stay the course until you are able to do something about it.
