 So like his Times are the ethics of Man
Part black, part white they seem in others' eyes
Devour us at will our waiting days can
Like lions that to pounce on us plan
Envy not favours a day may supply
Shame if "He's envious" your reputation ran 

 ألا أن أخلاق الفتى كزمانه فمنهن بيض في العيون وسود
 وتأكلنا أيامنا فكأنما تمر بنا الساعات,وهي أسود
 فلا تحسدن يوماعلى فضل نعمة فحسبك عاراً أن يقال حسود
