Womp, Womp! Careful What You Wish For...

A minister in San Diego California has been detained by ICE and is facing deportation, even though he has committed no other crime, other than entering the US without proper documentation. To all other outward appearances, has led a productive, if not pious life here in America.

To make matter extra sour for the minister, he considers himself a good Republican and supported Trump in his campaign. He urged his daughter, a US citizen, to vote for him and even volunteer in Trump's campaign. Although the minister knew he was "illegal", he believed Trump when he said that only the worst criminals would be targeted, rounded up and deported. He felt safe to walk American streets, secure that only other "illegals" would suffer deportation.

But he was wrong. The pastor has been arrested and will now spend at least the next six weeks in a detention center awaiting a judge's decision on whether he will be deported or not. Apparently, he still feels that he will prevail and this is just a "test from God of his faith".

As we progress through Trump's term, we will no doubt see more and more stories such as these. The workers at the Carrier and Harley Davidson plant, for example. The farmers who supported him, who are about to be boxed out of Chinese markets. US manufacturers whose companies will fail because of the tariffs set in place on basic materials such as steel and aluminum. Consumers who will pay more for their purchases, from food to clothing to fuel, because of the trade wars Trump is starting. Every human being on the planet expecting to have peace in our time because they believed Trump when he said he was the best negotiator the world has ever seen, only to embroil us in aThird World War. (Hopefully, the last thing doesn't happen... but at this point, who knows.)

In any case, buckle up citizens of the world. This is only the beginning and it promises to be a bumpy ride.
