Vegan Rant: Leave the animals alone, for they are not ours to own

in #life4 years ago

What if, in a galaxy far, far away, a technologically advanced race of beings reared, farmed and slaughtered human beings for food -- and their justification was that human meat tasted delicious and was good for the economy.

Would this advanced race of beings have the right to farm humans for food, given their technological and intellectual prowess?

If not, then ask yourself the following:

What gives us the right to rear and slaughter animals for food, and why is it morally just to treat animals in a way which we wouldn't wish to be treated by our superiors?

Have we forgotten the ancient wisdom of The Golden Rule?

Sort:

Animals don't care they only feel so if you kill them painlessly it doesn't matter to them people are the only animals we know of that have the ability to care about anything because our brains are so advanced you can look it up if you don't believe this it's all provable with facts and science

What do you mean by 'animals don't care'.

Care about about other animals, people, their lives?

Can you please elaborate.

They feel but they don't care about anything they feel the closest thing they have to caring is what people call the lizard brain but that only makes you want to eat, drink, sleep, multiply, and kill competition people have this too but it is combined with emotions that make it so we can care about things animals don't have emotions they only have feelings they are different even though most people don't know the difference caring is a choice you make on how you will react to something and feelings force you to react in a preprogrammed way to anything that happens to you that's why you do anything that needs to be as fast as possible or very consistent with feelings not emotion

So, you're saying animals don't care about their lives, their families or the humans they bond with?

They don't care they feel that there best chance of getting food, water, multiplying, and killing competition is to stay with other non hostile animals ideally apex predators like humans they can't care they do everything involuntarily the same way you keep your lungs breathing and your heart pumping without actively thinking about it that's the only part of the brain they have

You may want to read this and reevaluate your thinking.

Animals and Human Experience the Same Emotions
"The link between humans and animals may be closer than we may have realised. Research by Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) has found that our furry relatives may share many of the same emotions that humans experience in everyday life. "
https://phys.org/news/2005-09-animals-human-emotions.html

This article was created by someone who doesn't understand the difference between emotions and feelings those are all feelings they are the chemical effects of any input. humans can take feelings as an input and use our emotions to make choices about it. that is the difference all animals have the same feelings as people they just don't have the emotions that allow them to care about anything. they only use logic based on chemical input.

When the lion kills the zebra, it's good for the lion but bad for the zebra. Whereas I can appreciate your perspective, our planet seems to be deeply rooted in predator/prey relationships...

As for your question, if the race was that advanced, odds are they also knew how to synthesize bacon from basic protein building blocks. We'll probably get there in another 50-100 years...

"synthesize bacon from basic protein building blocks."

They enjoy killing and eating real humans.

"ANIMALS EAT OTHER ANIMALS"
'While it is of course true that animals do eat other animals all the time in nature, basing our own ethics, as humans, on the actions of animals, can lead us to all sorts of problems. If we can justify something solely on the basis that animals do it, then we can justify the following: urinating in people's front gardens (dogs do it); sexually penetrating females without their consent (lions do it); smothering our babies to death (lions also do it); vomiting on people's food (flies do it); and so on. People only seem to be interested in justifying human behaviour on one thing that animals do, and that's eating animals.'
