Game of Hopscotch

Hopscotch is a fun game for anyone who can hop and jump. This traditional game has remained ever popular everywhere and a superb entertainment for the family. It can be played alone or with any number of friends or rivals.

All that is needed are pieces of chalk to draw a pattern of rectangles on concreted driveway or pavement. If playing on the beach, a stick would do the job. To make it extra fun for young children sometimes the rectangles are numbered and this helps kiddies to learn their numbers.

The challenge is to hop from rectangle to rectangle on one leg. Young kiddies may have a little coordination problem hopping or standing on one leg. They look cute and funny when they try to maintain their balance. It's a hilarious game with lots of shrieks and laughs but it becomes serious competition when the kiddies get older. The game could be made more exciting for older kiddies to pick up their marker like a stone, bottle cap, seashell, etc while standing on one leg.
