It is well known that Colombia has a lot of flora and fauna, I live in Pereira, a city of the coffee zone that has a warm weather all year long, about 15° to 28° approximately. Because of this, I often see a lot of new kinds of flowers and plants, I feel very lucky for that :)

Today I'm going to share with you three pictures that I shoot some time ago, I took them with an old Panasonic digital camera but it had a Leica lens, so it kind of allowed me to do interesting first planes. I hope you enjoy them!

Orchid

Here in Colombia there is a great variety of orchids around the world and it is estimated that more than 1000 Orchid species only habit in the Colombian soil. They are usually very delicate flowers and require a lot of maintenance if you ever want to have one at home, but it is one of my favorite flowers because of the unpredictable exotic forms of their different species.

Gerbera

It is also common to find red, white and yellow Gerberas,
I loved the pink color of this one, and the drops of water on its petals.

Girasol

A well known, beautiful and imposing flower.
The thing that I really liked of this shoot was the natural light and color contrast.
