How Many Bricks did it Take to Build New York?

New York has a lot of bricks. I mean, in the Empire State Building alone, over 10 MILLION bricks were used. That's just the Empire State Building. As I walked around today, I looked around and thought, what would this city look like had bricks never existed? Because everything is made from bricks.

A random brick wall. How many bricks do you see? And this is just one tiny section of one brick wall out of millions of other brick buildings in Brooklyn alone.

New York City really is a city built on bricks. All five boroughs needed them; to hard to imagine how different each one would look without them. If just the Empire State Building took 10 million bricks to build, I don't even want to guess how many the whole city took to get to what it looks like today. But NY is just one city on this planet... so how many bricks exist on Earth?
