Life is beautiful when you define what you want and stick to it. Following what everyone else is doing will constantly keep you in the rat race and ultimately make you live the unfulfilled life.
Did you just get angry with your $1000 because someone else made $10,000? Humans are natural competitors and no one truly wants to be completely under another. This is because it has always been in the nature of man to predate on those he is more powerful than.
Being more powerful or wealthier gives you an edge to intimidate or even despitefully use others. In other to protect himself from the suppression and provocations that come from those wealthier or more powerful, man unconsciously measures himself with those around him and tries to be among those at the top.
However, this is the deepest reason for most unsatisfied life. Constantly measuring your life with other people will put you in a rat race where dissatisfaction is the result.
Always have your own goals and work towards achieving that goal. If your dream is big enough, then you will surely get to the top.
