How AI will SAVE the World! (according to me)

Yea, yea I know everyone's talking about machine learning , AI and stuff. So If you're unsure what we're going to talk about here; Broadly speaking, "Machine learning" is making computer to be able to "understand" the relationships between what it "sees" and what the result should be. And Artificial Intelligence is a field of study with the goal of making computers as good(or better) as humans at many tasks.

Some tasks are incredibly easy for computers, like doing calculations, but not as easy for us humans; on the other hand, day-to-day,mudane tasks such as maintaining balance while walking, understanding your friend's bad humour, reading, driving etc. are very hard for a computer to do. Because we, don't understand ourselves how our brain does many things (infact we know very little about the brain), it is very hard to write computer programs to do these tasks, until recently.

A quick question : If John's Dad is my Mom's Uncle, What is John's Sister to me? Don't bother solving if you didn't. A task like this involves logic which is hard to make computers do, except that its in the nature of Neural Networks. They can form complex logic to solve problems given that the neural network is large enough.

So coming back to the controversial topic of "AI will kill us all"; The strongest arguments made by many are : AI is taking over alot of jobs, and eventually most will be unemployed; Autonomous weapons can't be easily stopped, especially dangerous in the hands of terrorists; Terminator-like Skynet will kill us humans because why not.
Unfortunately, I don't have answers to most of the arguments. But research on AI can't be stopped, it's unstoppable, whatever will happen, WILL happen.

We have alot of resources. In our cities, countries, underground, asteroid belt, neighbouring planets, the galaxy etc.
But we aren't using them efficiently. For example, India, the country with the most agricultural land, grows 4 TIMES the amount it needs to feed their people. But most of the food is lost due to spoilage, poor distribution and storage. India can literally feed the entire world with its food if not lost. Another example is USA's energy consumption. Americans make up only 4.5% of the world's population and yet consume nearly 20% of its energy. And apparently they aren't doing anything about it.

Global Warming, extinction of species, pollution, poverty, the list goes on. They can be traced back down to our greed of power/wealth and poor distribution of resources.

This might sound stupid, but hear me out. If we put a mature AI entity to have a say in matters, if we give regulatory authorities of industries and health this entity. Maybe things will go towards a better direction, a better future for our planet, humanity and our animal pals.

We are going to kill ourselves anyways if it goes the way it is going.
Some scientists are predicting various dates/time when will we achieve "singularity", point of time marking when computers, AI agents become as good as humans(or better) in every task. I don't know when it will come. But I'll try my best that it does become a reality. Because I believe it will lead to a better future.
