RE: A rare electricity outage

in #life5 years ago

Oh yeah, the odd blackout is a good thing to get people actually conversing.
Here in South Africa we have what is called "Load Shedding", the power gets switched off for 4 hours every day on a rotational basis across the country.
Due to mismanagement, corruption and poor planning, the danger exists that overloading the electricity feed could cause an entire collapse of the system, which could take months to fix.
Fortunately we have planned for the outages, as we have rechargeable lamps and wood fires to ward off the cold during winter.
Blessings!

This "load shedding" thing is new to me...but I think it's a good idea to sustain an electricity system when it's not good enough :) Of course, if executed well...otherwise it would be horrible!

Hoping all the best for your side!

Thank you my friend, what makes matters worse is that no planning was done and the population continued to grow unabated.
They woke up to the massive problem too late and then when they actually started doing something about it, it was a fiasco because of corruption.
Such is life my friend!
Blessings!
