Ten tips for a happy old age.

Because I am an older person, I always receive advice on how to lead a quiet life on my social networks, but not letting our family and friends make us invisible. Most of the time we are the ones who make ourselves invisible without wanting to, they invite us to go out and we always have a but in our mouth, if there is a meeting at home, some of us prefer to be in our rooms, and without realizing it we open the door to the terrible enemy of indifference, since it is becoming a habit for our own that we are locked up.

That's why we are in time to come back to life, to keep the slippers and the robe to walk at home in the closet and join our group of friends and family, because that's why we decided years ago to form a great team, companionship or form a great family, of course our children have grown and are autonomous in their lives, but if only once we let them tell us what to do, we begin to give our lives.

So even though I don't know the author of this writing, I found it very interesting to share them with all my misnamed friends of the third age, older adult and to realize that having arrived in my case at 70 years, is a privilege and a great blessing that God gave us, and thus I show gratitude from my friends who shared this writing with me.

  1. You will take care of your presentation every day. Dress well, dress up as if you were going to a party. What more party than life!

  2. You shall not lock yourself in your house or your room. Don't play cloistered or volunteer prisoner. You will go out into the street and out into the countryside. Stagnant water rots and the stationary machine moulds.

  3. You will love physical exercise as you love yourself. A little gym time, a reasonable walk indoors or outdoors. Against inertia, diligence.

  4. You will avoid the activities and gestures of an old man or woman who has collapsed. Head down, back bent, feet crawling. No! Let people say a compliment when you pass.

  5. You won't talk about your old age or complain about your ailments. With it, you will end up believing that you are older and sicker than you really are. And they will make you empty. No one wants to be hearing hospital stories. Stop calling yourself old and considering yourself sick.

  6. You will cultivate optimism about everything. To the bad weather good face. Be positive, be humorous in your words, be cheerful in your face, be kind in your gestures. You have the age that you exercise. Old age is not a matter of years but a state of mind.

  7. You will be useful to yourself and others. You are neither a parasite nor a voluntarily broken branch of the tree of life. Be sufficient as far as possible and help. Help with a smile, with advice, a service.

  8. You will work with your hands and your mind. Work is infallible therapy. Any work attitude, intellectual, artistic... Medicine for all ills, the blessing of work.

  9. You will keep human relationships alive and cordial. Of course, those that knot within the home, integrating all members of the family. There you have the opportunity to live with all ages, children, young people and adults, the perfect sample of life. Then you will widen your heart to your friends, as long as the friends are not exclusively old like you. Flee the antique bazaar.

  10. You don't think that all of the past tense was better. Stop condemning your world and cursing your moment. Be glad that you are part of it and that you can see many beautiful and new things.
