Hotel Andaluz

in #life5 years ago

Hotel Andaluz is a historic boutique hotel located in downtown Albuquerque. For our recent anniversary, we started our evening’s celebrations with appetizers and cocktails on their rooftop bar. We were a little engulfed in celebrating our special day, so we neglected to get too many pictures, but we did manage to capture a few pictures of this extravagant and beautiful hotel.

We got to the rooftop bar just as the sun was setting, and just as Eli Del Puerto began playing an acoustic set. She was charismatic, as well as talented, and the songs she played were the perfect mood music for the evening. She played against a backdrop of fire and water, as Ibiza, the rooftop bar, has a fluorescent waterfall, framed by torches.

The food was indescribably excellent. With many vegetarian and gluten free offerings on their Andalusian menu, we opted for the cauliflower wings, which had the perfect amount of spice and an amazing flavor.

The beauty of the bar, of course, was nothing compared to the actual interior of the hotel itself. The main floor has little alcoves, called casbahs, each uniquely designed with cozy poufs, soft pillows, and satin curtains. The area between the casbahs has a water fountain and beautiful tile work, as well as many places to sit and enjoy the revolving entertainment.

The hotel rooms are exquisite, comfortable, and have every amenity you expect from a boutique hotel.

While an old building notable for its place in history (Hotel Andaluz was the fourth hotel built by famed hotelier Conrad Hilton and the first building in New Mexico to have air conditioning), you would never guess the age of the building from stepping inside. Each detail has been perfectly curated and the hotel itself has been painstakingly remodeled to give each guest a modern sense of luxurious comfort.
