THE BOY CHILD IS ALSO IMPORTANT!

There should be a course in Emotional Intelligence/Management embedded somewhere in our Primary and Secondary school Social Studies. The education of the boy child begins from these stages.

You cannot home train your girls, inculcate in them the moral tenants that would make them socially acceptable and book smart alongside – an all round perfection– then forget the boys and leave them to "God".

The girl child is restricted, her friends on constant checks, you even befriend her friend's mothers to help guide your daughter's company. But "Jude", the boy, can fly: "he is a man", you say. But there is one thing you may have forgotten, "you are creating a hell for those girls". Yes, they will be superior and smarter but would be destroyed by beastly, entitled boys, which they would eventually end up with.

In my high school days, as is still the case, when the closing bell is rang you see boys cluster at the door waiting and perching like hawks, so the girls would attempt to pass so they can press their breasts and press nyash. Nobody talks, it is a normal thing. In fact, we are made to believe that the girls like it. Do you see that culture? Do you get my point now?

A boy that sees a smile, a wave, frequent soft greetings as vegetable green light.

Imagine that entitlement. Imagine a picture where he goes ahead with the courage of Hercules, the confidence of Three Ibrahimovich and a poise of Khal Drogo and go and shoot his shot, and fine girl drops the shot on the ground and curve him. The hurt, the pain, the confusions that turns to hate; this is a budding rape story.

The Boy child is important too. Watch your boys too.
