Terrible! We also had a theft right in our own home. It was strange because nobody, not even the neighbors heard of the break-in and the dogs didn't even make a noise. Luckily all they got were my grandmas orchids in the yard and they weren't able to get inside.
Please be careful...and paranoid enough to keep everything closed! ^o^
Good for you, @rainbowme. Maybe the thieves were dog whisperers. Haha. Or maybe they know your dogs. Those were poor orchids.
