Dealing with Internet Drama

Hi guys! Here's some tips to avoid drama on the internet whether it be in the Youtube comments, a discord server, or Facebook. Enjoy!

Learn the Power of Ignoring.
When people bully or harass, the one thing they want is some sort of response. The best way to respond to this is just ignoring them. Blocking works too. But the one thing you can’t do is say “I don’t care”; that’s a response! Just don’t say anything back to them if they are trying to start something. People who post insults or threats just want a reaction; so don’t give them what they want. Block and move on.

Don’t Join Drama.
Unfortunately, being the harkened “Angel of Justice” probably won’t work. Angry rants on people’s posts about why they’re wrong doesn’t help. Making posts against someone doesn’t help. Just as my first point says; Just ignore it! If it’s not your business, avoid it. Reporting to curators helps too!

Keep a Level head (And Don’t Overreact!)
Explosive or overly negative responses are the worst kind you can have; it makes you seem immature or non-cooperative. It also makes you an easy target! Drama and mean folk will attempt to take control of you due to your proneness. If someone upsets you, keep calm and respond with kind words. Don’t shout. Don’t say hateful words.

Respect Others’ Opinions.
Not everyone is going to like everyone; we can’t always get along. You can try to be compassionate, but even the nicest you will dislike some people. But I don’t go around spreading hate or being aggressive to them. Respect them and their differences. You can’t make compromises if you’re going to be negative. So be respectful and keep your bitterness to the side. Let your kindness shine through your disagreements.

Speak Kindly.
Have a kind appearance makes you easily approachable and generally spreads positivity. Make a small impact by being open-minded and kind spirited. Listen to what others have to say, even if you don’t like it. Negativity only brings people down, so smile and communicate kindly. It helps, trust me.
Thank you for listening!
