What are the signs that a person does not have high self esteem?

One of the major signs of low self esteem is that the person feels inferior when in the company of a particular set of persons. He feels like an outlier, like he is not as good as they are, hence, he is not free to relate with them.

Also, he tries to please people and play along their billings.
