What if space travels were something habitual for us?

After the moon landing in 1969, the space exploration race between The United States and the Soviet Union was coming to an end. Since then, there was still no space expedition to the moon or another planet and the money designated to the research of better ways for sending people to space was lower and lower.

So, let’s imagine that scientists had discovered a way to produce massive space travels around any planet that we wanted to visit. Being able to colonize another planet would reduce the extinction possibilities in a huge amount. It should be such an exciting experience to live in Mars or any moon of Saturn. Although the weather conditions would not be ideal, we could construct special buildings that protect us from the neutral environment.

Colonizing planets would bring more advantages. There would be a lot of discoveries including medicine, new materials and we might also find life, who knows? The Earth would no longer define the limitations of scientific growth. Another great effect of the space colonies is the reduction of the overpopulation in our current planet.

But we should be very careful about this. Without a correct administration of these colonies, they could become independent and turn against the Earth. This would be like throwing all the work done to the trash. So, we should take into account this topic.

Would anything of this happen? The answer could be yes but not anytime soon. There is still technological progress to be made. Even with better technology, space travels will surely be still expensive, so we’ll have to wait.
