THERE SHOULD BE SEPARATE SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES FOR MEN AND SOME JUST FOR WOMEN

in #life6 years ago

Today in the world co-education is considered a norm. It is normal for opposite genders to study and pursue their dreams together. While co-education has its positive points it also has some negative points as well. That is why some countries provide different schools for opposite genders. Some even have the same school but the boys and the girls have separate classes, lectures and even recess. In some countries it is even considered immoral for boys and girls to be studying together. Alas, while on this topic it is also important for parents to realize that there is no harm in sending their children to co-educational institutions.
It was said that:

“Co-education is a western concept in its nature. Its main purpose is to end the modesty of women by persuading them to join the gaiety of the club. So the debate on the issue of co-education is useless."

Problem No 1:

Boys Get Distracted:

The first and foremost disadvantage of having to study in co-educational institutions is that boys tend to get distracted by the presence of girls. They find it harder to concentrate on their lessons when girls are around. Though this is not always the case but majority of the boys tend to have their attention diverted if a girl is sitting near them and this setting gets worse with the onset of puberty. Girls tend to be oblivious of this fact thus making it even harder for the boys to communicate with them.

Problem No 2:

Difference in Mentalities:

In terms of education boys and girls should not be given the same curriculum. Due to the difference in their mentalities, boys and girls have different preferences. While boys may focus more on sports and careers, girls tend to have a hand in home life as well. Though there is absolutely no doubt that females are entering the career field as fast as any other male but still the fact remains that the basic needs and requirements of both boys and girls is different. Thus making it necessary for them to pursue different studies in separate colleges or schools.

Problem No 3:

Approach of Indecency:

According to some parents (that are influenced by society) they would rather not let their children study in co-educational schools as to them the interaction among youth only lets to indecency. They have failed to accept the fact that when their children grow up they are bound to interact with the opposite gender. Parents are always cautious, they want what is best for their children and according to them if they wanted their child to remain pure they must send them off to single gender schools.
It was wisely said that:

“Every child is a different kind of flower, and all together, make this world a Beautiful Garden”

Problem No 4:

Difference of Mind-set:

Though in many colleges and schools, boys and girls study together till a certain age, the age of puberty but after that they are separated until they enter universities or step into society. Also, it is also known in Islam that free intermixing of boys and girls is not permissible. That also becomes a reason why many Islamic states around the world have already separated their schools on the basis of gender.

Conclusion:

In the end, co-education also has its merits. But it depends on the mind-set of the parents and how much of an influence society has on them. While some may consider it vulgar others still appreciate the approach of co-education schools. No wonder society is divided into different school of thoughts.
Alas, it is as David Icke said:

“What schools, what education should be, in a natural order world, is not ow do we get children to be what we want them to be, but how do we get the best and the potential out of every child in their unique sense and unique self… but like I say, we live in an inversion and so we get the opposite of that… Have you noticed how they say, these politicians about education, “We must prepare children for the workplace” in other words the system should fit us, we should not fit the system”.

In Malaysia (an islamic country), co-education still the mainstream. Istill think mixing around with different gender during growth period of teenagers is important. They need to learn how to not distracted by different gender, how to manage their emotions and how to communicate with opposite genders

What is this shitty Islam propaganda?

I think this is too offensive bro.

I think single-sex is dangerous for 2 situations. First in Muslim countries they applied this system for a long time and still some countries make it a must, it only raised rapists and men that see themselves superior gender. We have to accept we still live in a patriarchal world so these are the facts.
Second, schools are not only to teach lessons about math, chemistry or physics, children have to know how to live and get along with opposite sex. They need to observe what they are going through.

Am with you on this @samboy. Here in Uganda, single sex schools top the academic performance chart lists year in year out. And I feel the reason, you've stated it out perfect. I was in a mixed school throughout my education, and the girls distructed me from as early as 11 years. All I wanted was to please them, in dressing, hair styles, how i spoke, how I spent money, and this got worse at highschool. That I didn't get good grades for the university of my choice.
I believe if a child is to be in a mixed school, the parents have got to train the child on how to co-exist with a different gender, ontherwise it's hard for a child to figure all this out all by himself. Which is different when the child is in a single gender school, there is little left to do when they are not chasing their dreams.

@Samboy, Great article. In my own opinion I think co-ed school is better than single sex school. One being studying with the opposite sex is engaging and challenging which is good to promote the pursuit of excellence between the sexes. Two is letting both sexes know how to behave and respond in any social setting. Three it's the environment that influences the conduct of both sexes both for the good or bad and not their close proximity to each other. Four even if we segregate the boys from the girls we can't tame their curiosity which eventually fuels their adventures.

Life is co-ed

I think this is the biggest by far issue with this proposal. How can you say that if girls and boys have trouble communicating the solution is to keep them separate for years and year.

We have to learn to talk to one another.

You always have some of the best ideas and solutions for some of the most struggling issues, nice thought process

In my own opinion, COED is better than single sex school. Why, because it would be best for kids to be expose in both gender at the early age to avoid curiosity in the future. And there was a previous research which shown that curiosity drives people to seek out miserable experiences. Just my opinion. Have a good day!
