Take Up Responsibility

If you're given an opportunity to travel back in time to "right" a particular wrong, what would that be? Okay, that's like Mission Impossible. The truth is this - you cannot alter the past, but you can do something in the present that can ultimately alter the future.

Can I tell you this? Your future is a some total of your today's actions and inactions. Do you ever stop for a second to think about an action before you do it? Not just thinking about it, but thinking about what impact it will create in your tomorrow. I was listening to a particular song; "My tomorrow" by David Ekene. The chorus always piques my interest:

My tomorrow must be greater than today

But the truth is this; things do not just happen, you have some obvious responsibilities laid on you. For you to see a greater tomorrow, you have to take great strides today. Remember this; if you refuse to take up the responsibility to build up your tomorrow, someone else will employ you to help him build up his.

Many times; it not uncommon for us to be focused more on the things we want to do rather than the things that need to be done. Just as the planting precedes harvest; and not the reverse; in the same way, your actions today are like the seeds you sow into your tomorrow. And the truth is; you can't sow maize today and expect to harvest cocoa tomorrow. So be cautious of your actions today, because, somehow, they would have effects on your tomorrow.
