Israel Kamakawiwo'ole 'Over The Rainbow' & 'What A Wonderful World' Beautiful Medley
Israel 'IZ' Kamakawiwo'ole (20 May 1959 - 26 June 1997) was an American singer and musician and a native of Hawaii. This Medley made him famous in 1993, and it was included in the soundtrack for several films. As he got older, he got heavier, eventually weighing over 750 pounds (340 kg).
His obesity took his life at the young age of 38. IZ died from heart and respiratory problems on June 26, 1997. All over Hawaii the flags were flown at half-mast, and hiss body was laid in-state at the Capitol Building in Honolulu. Over 10,000 people came to pay tribute to one of the last full-blooded Hawaiians. His music will live forever.
I think that is the most beautiful version of that song I have ever heard. It is a shame he died obesity is a lot more dangerous than most people think.
