The Green Belt in Pink

Super proud of my middle little. She earned her green belt tonight in Tae Kwon Do. We started her at the end of last summer, and she was trucking right along until a car accident forced her to take about two months off. And just before her green belt test! But she worked out her whiplash and made a comeback.

Tonight I could see that her neck was stiff between movements. She rolled it out and rested it during the testing break. It was amazing to watch her put her all into her kicks, punches, jumps and forms despite clear discomfort. She wanted that belt, and as long as she wasn’t hurting herself, we allowed her to work for it.

The next belt is purple. She will be in Tae Kwon Do all summer. My littlest little will be joining her there soon. I’m very happy my girls have this option for self-defense and empowerment. Meanwhile, my biggest little is nearly my height and will be starting Cross Country soon.
