Meeting a strange (rs) point of view.
So I go out and feed the animals, then head back to town, outside there are 8 men standing around and talking in the snow, and 2c degrees. Intrigued I asked them what was going down. They smiled and invited me into the chat!...
History is for fools is from the lyrics of Roger Waters perfect sense track. Why mention this? Well I grew up as most do, with WW2 and the 6 million Jews gassed rammed down my throat in the west. Even Hollyweird films have rammed the message home. Yet here I was, standing in the street talking about The bolshevik revolution and the never really discussed topic in the west, figure of 100 million people that were slaughtered. They remember the gulags well here, and they know all about the WW2 work camps, that they refuse to call death camps, as by LAW it is illegal to call them death camps.
This was the topic or discussion they were having when I arrived, the Bolsheviks that is.
The work camps only came into the conversation due to me being there, they wanted to point out the diplomatic spat between Israel and Poland regards to this issue. Israel Demands Poland Reverse Law Outlawing Mention of ‘Polish Death Camps’ or Polish Complicity.
I was never taught at school about the Bolshevik revolution you see, it was never even mentioned!.
It seems the scars run deep here with regards to the amount of Polish people that were sent to die in Siberia at the gulags.

It is difficult at times.
Coming from the west to the east, and thinking you know your history, and getting shot down in flames on the street, you see they have their own view of history, and they lived it. They had their own sufferings, and it would seem are very scarred with regards to being abandoned by the west after helping to fight in WW2. They know it is not my fault, and they do not blame me, they do though point the finger at the west as a whole, and at the east, namely Russia, that name alone, Russia - brings out a lot of venom and contempt from the locals when you say it out loud.
277,000 They keep saying, not 6 million dead, Jews that is. And the red cross also backs up that "fact"....

Everyone has their own version of events.
I find it interesting to hear their views, as all I ever knew was the west side of the story. What do I make of it all? Nothing, as nothing I say to them or to you changes anyone's mind, we are what we are, we have been told what we "know" and arguing on the internet or in the street changed somebody's mind "never"......
Let me know your thoughts below, I know this is a tough topic, though just saying it as I see it is all I know.

You are perfectly right, everybody have their own version of events as it has also happen to me before. The way i look an event was different to the way they look at the event bringing oit different version out of the same events back then. Interesting to read
Thanks my friend, the truth is you can have two people watch the same event and see 2 different things, such is life it seems. :-)
My thoughts could be summarized by saying that when there is power, maniacs take it and others suffer it, so we better don't fall on those traps again.

When you read about the science behind eye witness statements of events, you see that people are very good at filling in the blanks of their knowledge with guesses... and fully, 100% declaring what they saw is true... and it rarely is. Eye witness accounts also then change over time as people's experiences afterwards affect their memory on what they saw. Basically, on the whole, nobody knows what they're talking about.
With that said, while I have no idea about the accuracy of any of the numbers surrounding WW2, I think the holocaust itself is a huge lesson to the world to be skeptical of your political leaders and to question the mob mentality. Unfortunately, as countries in the world are electing more and more authoritarian governments who "promise" to fix the system and then do whatever they want once in power, it's a lesson we're might need to be reminded of in the near future.

The poles have a sad history. Between Russia and Germany . They had no chance . It was either one or the other . I’d say when the Red army started to take back cities , the Polish weren’t celebrating that much in the streets .
No they were not, and boy are they still feeling it.

History rarely had merely one version. In conflicts there are two sides (at least), and usually each of them comes up with its own version of the events. It's true sometimes the victor imposes its version, but the loser rarely forgets its own.
No truer words ever uttered, even in jest.
History can be a tricky thing if we were not there to see it in person his can we know for sure what happened.

There's always going to be different interpretations of what transpired or how many actually died. Reading all the information you provided a couple thoughts of it popped in my mind. One being if the RC visited these camps if they openly came out and proclaimed people were being gassed they'd then be denied any further access. It would seem logical to me that you would do whatever it takes, including lying, to be able to secure contact in the future. Another question that pops into my head, more so based on movies I've watched on it more so then from the articles provided, is how could the people in the camps know to tell the RC they were being gassed, they could attest to someone or a relative being take and never seen again from that point but logically it would seem to be that if people knew they were being sent to die anyway they'd at least give it their last best shot and rebel up against the guards. That only seems like a natural recourse, sort of like the nine eleven airplane where the passengers said look we are going to die so we might as well go down as saving others from the course of this airplane. There's no doubt in my mind that many did die from disease and starvation also but I don't doubt some were also killed other ways.
The "big" problem with the 6 million figure, is not just that it is in biblical books, and not just that it was touted before hand, it is that the Polish, including my elderly mother in law, watched most of these people leave before the war, 1934 - 38 when the Jews declared trade war with Nazi Germany and hitler, before a single bomb was even dropped.
They know the truth not just what is in movies, I have spoken to a lot of elderly people that all state that as fact, that they watched happen, as a lot of the shops here and businesses were owned by the Jews, and when they closed down, people notice, as they can no longer buy shoes, or bread, or clothes & especially jewellery you see,
That large amount also entered my head as a incredible amount of people for the time period in history that we are talking. Sure there were millions of people on earth but they're talking wiping out an astonishingly amount of people in just one sub group of many in a handful of countries.
The red cross put the figure at 277,000 and I trust them more than the MSM or governments claiming otherwise. :-)

My friend, the RC started off as a wonderful idea, in service and all that crap. No charity, and that includes RC, have kept to the original dream that gave birth to them.
Do you honestly bbelieve RC is better than Oxfam, who spend 93% of all donations on running their org, and to supply food to the hungry children, they demand sex from the kids (in the news recently).
I suggest all arguments be supported by more reliable sources, then the argument will have enough meaning for people to question what they think they know.
RC steals what is give to them to help people and they sell the stuff. Did you know that the law allows them to openly sell and keep funds for themselves, up to 33.3% of the value of the donations?
(I know because a niece of mine runs a charity)
Last year, millions contributed to the RC for helping those left homeless by the storms in the US (despite people being warned not to do so) and, RC kept to their system of selling most of what they received.
So, why should I believe anything they tell me?
No I trust them on charity as much as I trust Hillary Clinton or Thereasa May or for that matter Merkel IE 0% But others do, and if they believe them they have to believe to 277,000 figure not the mythical - biblical 6 million bs. :-)
