A strange tree that I watched in a garden close to my home

Yesterday, during our usually walking around the streets in my neighbourhood, me and my hubby were surprise to see a tree that I've never noticed before. It has some strange flowers that look like cups in beautiful shades of colors. I's unusual tree here in our area and so I searched the name on the net: it's a  Liriodendron tulipifera, best known as the tulip tree!

I read it's native to North America and it's the first time I see this kind of tree here in my city. It's really beautiful and I noticed it just because the beautiful flowers!

 

Reading some online sources I know that the wood of this tree (called poplar) it's known as an useful wood for carving and some sculptors used it to realize their artworks! 

I read also it's  one of the major tree for honey in some part of the Us! So, good for honey, good for wood and wonderful flowers, I would one of these tree in my backyard too! ^_^
