This photo series is doubtless one of the most spectacular known "Ufo sightings"!

The Periscope of the US Navy "USS Trepang" (SSN 674) from 1971.

It is said that the US Navy's forces have hit an enormous ufo in the Antarctic ocean in march 1971. The following black and white images should come from the USS Trepang SSN 674 submarine, when the u-boat was  between Iceland and the island of Jan Mayen. 

After a reputed leak the following pictures were published in the French magazine "Top Secret". One of these photos should be labelled with "Official Photograph – not to be released" according to the magazine Top Secret. Another one was marked as "Unauthorized Disclosure Subject – Security Certificate SSN 674". Because of the different views of the unknown object it is supposed to be an object that can change its shape according to the ufo community. But on the other hand the shapes may have changed by other views. 

The object is elongated and appears flattened at the ends. The cross-section does not appear to be that of a cylinder, more like a circular shape but rather that of a flat trapezium. But it seems as if the cross-section would stop at the ends. 

In the recording is clearly seen that the object shines but they couldn`t find out if it was a metallic material. Also the size is difficult to estimate. The diameter appears to be about a tenth of the length of the object! It was not announced in which order the pictures were taken but the photo shows clearly that there was a possible shot of the UFO! In the photographs, the sky appears to be cloudless, but wind seems to be easy on calm seas. The striking side is noticeable in the picture below...

The horizontal line of the periscope is no longer aligned parallel to the horizon.

It is not clear why the object is surrounded of smoke clouds on some images. Was it under fire or is smoke related to the "start or landing" of the object?

Did the object dived or fall into the ocean after the possible shot?

There are so many unexplained question. What happened to the object after the shot? Since the order of the pictures aren´t clear, no one knows what happened in 1971. But the genuineness of the pictures should be no doubt according to the magazine. Suggestions, that the object could also have been a balloon, seem absurd, since a smoke development or the appearance of the object in the pictures would not be explained.

There are so many articles about possible ufo´s inside the internet and it´s difficult to decide wether its true or not. Everything that I haven´t seen by myself is always the biggest question for me if I should believe it or not. This footage looks dangerous real and I tend to think there must be a truth since I haven´t heard about it on the mainstream news. Well, I was not alive in 1971 so maybe they reported about what happened. Let me know if you are familiar with this topic because I would love to know more about it!!

The source where I found this information is definitely trust worthy and doesn´t belong to any mainstream news companies! This topic is truly disputed but that´s a reason why I want to talk about it. There is a reason why the recordings where labelled as Official Photographs – not to be released and Unauthorized Disclosure Subject – Security Certificate SSN 674!
