RE: Principle of the Day

in #life6 years ago

Hi @bluejay, reading through the many comments that your principle made in mind of many people it could be a double edge sword too. Of course it is important to have volition, to know what we wish and will. But on other side when I think about other mighty people who are on power in some countries, who sometimes have their will and for them it is a sacred cow that makes me shiver to imagine what kind of crazy ideas can be born in their head tomorrow. Do you agree with me?

Greetings @stef1.

Thank you for your query.

Let me begin by saying.....principles would not include criminal behaviour or power/approbation lusts....they refer to what we ought to do......rather than the flawed capabilities of mankind.

Volition...the right to choose.

....would refer to (1) Respecting the volition of others, referring to adults;.......where one may not care for fill-in-the-blank, yet others insist they must.

Additionally, respecting one's right to choose by not gossiping about other's choices.

and (2) respect of one's own volition.....by not surrendering it to others (except in the case of legitimate authority).....or to chemical substances.

This of course is all within the realm of comman sense...the point being that when we do have the freedom of choosing......respect it for others and yourself.

Appreciate the opportunity to think on these things.

All the best to you. ^__^

Cheers.

Thank you for your explanation, the way you explained it made everything really clear and it is really a sense in your words. But I like the way how your principles make people think and as you know so many people so many opinions :)
