Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if Trump partially ignores Puerto Rico because it's not where his support lies. Not that they can even vote for him anyway, but Trump realistically need not even care too much for the Puerto Rican diaspora in other states when it comes to winning elections either.
After all, such a strategy pretty much won him the election; he knew where to campaign more vigorously and where to stay clear of.
@strayenglishman if there is no vote in Puerto Rico for Trump it does not stand for any sense humanity die ?
Whether or not Puerto Rico deserves recognition as a full State of the USA or not, is a question that predates Trump's presidency by many years. Politicians do however tend to be a little cold hearted. For better or worse, they often have to be.
However, there's arguments out there to both suggest that Trump's response has been great and also as you have suggested, that it was far from adequate. We won't know the true answer until another few months down the line.
