There surely is different meanings to several words and we seem to get the definitions confused or swapped around in our minds, you make a good distinction between the two here.
I have always tried to start my day by choosing to have a good day. If something tries to mess it up I just sort of reject it and move, we have more control over things that can have an affect on us but we have to make it a point to head them off before things go down hill so to speak.
