Like you I am a strong believer in the 3R's... it is so sad that, as you say ignorant, I say lazy.... people cannot take the extra moment to do the world some good... it doesn't cost them anything to put something into recycling.
I am not sure when people will finally "get it", where does it start? I thought the schools (where I live) were helping with education but it seems as people grow up they seem forget, or just plain don't care. I also believe that a family who decides to recycle and parents who teach their kids from a young age and who show by example is one of the strongest and has the longest lasting effects on our future behaviour.
Okay, I could ramble on for hours about this, so I had better go!

You're right, education is everything and must start at a young age. Small kids have to learn how to protect nature, what's the importance of the 3R and how to recycle. What you see at home that's what will you be doing later in life. This is a saying but unfortunately it's true.
This center is absolutely amazing also for learning/teaching purposes. Imagine taking kids there to show them how you drop off what you don't need any more and how it is transformed. It's a great opportunity for them to see people buying these "new" products. I would also take adults there as well, as many of them still need to learn.
