My first computer was a 'used' 3.1 as well...(An IBM clone)
Nice! Those were good times, just before we got our first 56K modem. I think we signed up for AOL subscription from one of those millions of direct mail CD’s, which are now sitting in landfills everywhere.
Thanks for writing this, so much enjoyed reading it, and it wasn't only interesting, it was well written! It is incredible to think how people around us affect our lives, how we affect their lives, and like you wrote, how thinks happening in our childhood affects our lives as adults.
