"Do you need a governess?" - Yes!

About 25 years ago I went to travel, bought a ticket to Czechoslovakia. The group was a youth group. We arrived early in the morning, it was four or five hours.

We took the train. We went to the place of residence. The train we would call a tram: two cars. Tables, benches for sitting. We were excited by everything seen, rustled, zagaldeli, who was hungry, reached for food, someone for drinking, some give anecdotes of races to say, everyone laughs.

And at this time, the people were traveling to this train to work. Quietly they got breakfast, ate, talked in a low voice. We gradually calmed down, the excitement passed, and it became so embarrassing! We seem to be in the forest, and people want peace and quiet.

The rest of our tourists also felt uncomfortable. Everyone was quiet and rode quietly. Approximately like this, we behaved cheekily in Palanga, in Lithuania. A resort town on the shore of the Baltic Sea. All the houses are beautiful, one is better than the other. In the center is only a multi-storey panel house, which spoils the whole view, residents dream of getting rid of it.

The city is clean, the dining room is delicious. After the pool, we liked to go to small cafes to drink coffee with condensed milk. Once we go, a man is sitting on the chairs at the counter. We waited, no attention to us, let's be indignant: when will the coffee be?

The saleswoman looked at us in bewilderment: wait, others are waiting. And in fact: what kind of impatience? What is upbringing without a governess! Another time I went to Bulgaria. It has been 35 years since then, and not to forget how we got into a mess.

So, we flew to Varna in the evening, the group was placed in a hotel, then they took us to a restaurant. As we missed breakfast and lunch, there were a lot of food, including tomatoes, large, fleshy, tasty. Dined with pleasure.

Then someone from the city asks:

  • I hope you cut tomatoes when you ate? And we did not know what to cut off, biting off a whole tomato. How bad that they did not know the rules of good taste.

Intolerance, lack of sensitivity, it seems to me, in our character. We do not speak softly, we are ready to swear for every trifle, defending our point of view.

I know the case when, after years of friendship, my friends quarreled because of the perfect little things and did not try to find a common language. Sometimes disagreements happen because of different political views - yes, even in our bearish corner. Remember perestroika?

Then there was a time when we chose the president, there were a lot of applicants. I preferred BN. Yeltsin, my friends, who had already communicated with our family for many years and were almost like relatives, were preparing to vote for another candidate. Yeltsin was elected.

Friends stopped visiting us. Our generation grew and grew old under the call: to fight! For academic performance, against influenza, for harvest, for cubic meters ...

Maybe it's better just to do your job professionally, and then we will become more tolerant to others if they have an opinion for some problem other than yours?

And in conclusion I want to ask: if your children are at that age, that they are still ready to accept the rules of good tone, work with them, so as not to blush neither to them, nor to you.
