Emily Rose is actually a young German girl named Anneliese Michel. Since her birth on September 21, 1952, Anneliese Michel has enjoyed a normal, religiously educated life since she was very young.

Without warning, his life changed one day in 1968 when he began to tremble and realized that he had no control over his own body. He couldn't call his parents, Josef and Anna, or any of his three sisters.

A neurologist at the Psychiatric Clinic in Wurzburg, Germany, diagnosed her with the "great evil" of epilepsy. Due to the severe epileptic seizures and the depression that followed, Anneliese was admitted to the hospital for treatment.

Shortly after the attacks began, Anneliese began to see diabolical images during her daily prayers. It was the fall of 1970 and the young woman was tormented by the idea that she was possessed. Voices began to haunt her, telling her that she was going to "burn in hell.

In the summer of 1973 his parents visited different pastors requesting an exorcism. Your requests were rejected. The attacks did not diminish and his behavior became much more erratic.

At his home in Klingenberg, he insulted, beat and bit his relatives. He refused to eat because the demons forbade him. Anneliese slept on the stone floor, ate spiders, flies and coal, and drank her own urine.

After an exact verification of his possession in September 1975, the Bishop of Wurzburg, Josef Stangl, ordered Father Arnold Renz and Pastor Ernst Alt to perform a "great exorcism" on Anneliese.

The basis for this ritual was the "Rituale Romanum", which was a legal canon valid since the 17th century. It was determined that Anneliese should be saved from various demons, including Lucifer, Judas Iscariot, Nero, Cain, Hitler, and some other tormented souls.

Between September 1975 and July 1976 he had one or two exorcism sessions a week. Anneliese's attacks were so strong at times that she had to be held by three men and even chained.

More than 40 recordings were made during the process in order to preserve the details. The last day of the exorcism was June 30, 1976, and at this point Anneliese suffered from pneumonia, was completely thin and had a very high fever.

The last thing Anneliese said to her exorcists was: "Pray for forgiveness" and to her mother she said: "Mother I am afraid". Anna Michel recorded her daughter's death the next day, July 1, 1976. According to forensic evidence, Anneliese starved to death...
