The most dangerous volcanoes in Latin America

The eruptions of the Fuego volcano in Guatemala, which caused more than 70 deaths so far, have alerted Latin American countries that have volcanoes in their territories.

The Colima Volcano in Mexico, is located between the states of Jalisco and Colima, perceived as the most active of the Aztec nation. In 2015 and 2016 it was ordered to evacuate the surrounding communities by a large ash cloud.

The Turrialba Volcano in Costa Rica, since 2016 has made several expulsions of ash, gases and incandescent material, after it had one of the largest eruptions in recent decades to generate ash clouds that covered nearby areas.

The Galeras Volcano in Colombia, after an eruption in 1993, where a group of scientists and tourists who were inside the crater died at that time, is the most active volcano of the New Granada nation, in the department of Nariño (west). In recent years he has had a constant activity.

The Calbuco Volcano in Chile, unexpectedly, in 2015 initiated a series of eruptions after 40 years of inactivity. The ash clouds alerted the authorities and more than four thousand people were evacuated.

The Popocatépetl Volcano in Mexico, one of the most active volcanoes in the region, is 5,452 meters high and is located between the states of Puebla, Estado de México and Morelos. In 2016, it ejected a 3-kilometer ash cloud that alerted the population.
