Flow the Stress Away

In our daily life, many people will feel annoyed because of the pressure in life, such as work, family, and so on, make us slowly feel depressed and tired.

Travel, shopping, or other recreational activities, these common methods can help us reduce stress and experience happiness. But although these methods work, they are only temporary relief methods. Because when you come back from travel, come back from shopping, the stress is still there.

Therefore, in psychology, there is a professional term called "Flow" to help us to truly free from stress. What is “the flow”?

Flow means that when you do something, you forget yourself while putting stress and worry behind you.

When I first saw the word, I thought it was unfamiliar, until I understood what it really meant, and realized that everyone actually experienced the flow.

I have recently set a goal, that is, every day make a time to calm down and write an article. But every time I began to write, I racked my brains, I do not know where to start, as if can’t type out a word.

Until I understand the meaning of the flow, only to find that it is not because I do not know what to write, but because my concentration is not in the writing, because I was interrupted by distractions, the noisy environment, and friend's invitation.

Therefore, although I still can’t concentrate, but slowly through the awareness of my attention, change my thoughts and calm down, write at least a day to improve myself.

Sometimes, we can feel stress, not by what we do at that time, but because of the outside factors. Therefore, if we can use the principle of flow experience to integrate into the source of stress.

I have a friend who involves in sales, every time he talks to customers, he feels anxious and nervous. That afternoon, I brought a client to his company.

Everybody sit down and start discussing. During the discussion, I found that he keep looking at his watch, looking around, seems to have some thoughts.

Although the atmosphere is a little tense, after we talked about half an hour later, reluctantly succeeded finally sign the agreement. Seeing the background of the client walking away slowly, I asked my friend: "What are you doing?" Why are you keep looking at your watch?"

He sighed and said: "It’s nothing, I just want to go home early to watch the game." After listening, I went back home without words.

We used to surf Facebook and chat with friends during work, we often think that these habits are a way to relax. But in fact, when we can’t focus on doing a certain thing, the stress will inadvertently slowly emerge.

In a blink of an eye, time is gone. After a day, don’t know what have done. Then, we gradually feel guilty, at the same time because we feel that we have nothing to do and began to fret.

Master the principle of the flow, so that you will calm down and cast your attention to something. It may not help you solve things instantaneously, but it can help you reduce the stress and annoyance that may occur.

The concept of flow comes from a book called: “Flow”. The author, Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, is a world-renowned psychologist, and also the founder of Positive psychology.

His "Flow" is one of the most important psychological concepts in the past 30 years, which not only deeply influenced psychology but also brought inspiration to many other fields. The book, "Flow", is the masterpiece of Mihaly, since 1990 published, has been translated into more than 30 kinds of words, best-selling global.

This book believes in introducing the concept of flow, what prevents us from acquiring the flow, what elements it consists of, and the final chapter, which is how to obtain the flow in life.

Flow or forget yourself, it is not only can be found by yourself, the people around you can also let you experience the flow. Establish common goals in the family, and after that, each member can work together in the family activities, in the process of striving for the goal, enjoy the fun.

Therefore, it is not a difficult thing to be free of stress. The first thing to do is to determine the root cause of the annoyance, internal or external causes, and then let yourself calm down, and then from the problem, devote attention to solve the root causes of stress.

To do something, in addition to perseverance, only by focus can let us achieve the desired results. Master the flow, let you out of stress.
